Lidl, protein fit curd bar Pilos: cappuccino and strawberry

Hey guys, today I have a new post for you about Pilos, Strawberry Cheese Bar and Cappucino, i.e. new fit keto reviews from Lidl. Recently, I saw these bars in the store and they immediately looked so delicious that I had to be tempted.

I have a fondness for such things from my childhood, so I would love to eat it! Unfortunately, on store shelves you can only find cottage cheese bars with poor composition for children. (Edit: Unfortunately, these also contain sugar, but I didn’t notice at first …) I know that Lidl has had banana and cappuccino flavors for a long time, and now a new strawberry has arrived, but I only found these two flavors for testing. Pilos bars also tempted me with the promise of proteins and low price. What do Lidl protein bars taste like? Welcome to my review!

Lidl, Pilos, Cottage cheese bars, my opinion:

Recently, I saw these bars in the store and they immediately looked so delicious that I had to be tempted. I have a fondness for such things from my childhood, so I would love to eat it! Unfortunately, on store shelves you can only find cottage cheese bars with poor composition for children. (Edit: Unfortunately, these also contain sugar, but I didn’t notice at first …) I know that Lidl has had banana and cappuccino flavors for a long time, and now a new strawberry has arrived, but I only found these two flavors for testing. Pilos bars also tempted me with the promise of proteins and low price. How did the reviews come out?

Packaging:

The curd bars disappointed me a bit. They turned out to be very small, which makes them quite expensive for the price. I also did not notice the lack of the inscription “with or without sugar” on the packaging, which can be confusing in this type of products. Marketing, such as fit and diet products, tempt with high protein and low calories.

Taste:

The curd mass is covered with a sweet and thin topping, which is not very tasty. If it wasn’t for the compact mass, you might think it was marshmallow. After biting, it crumbles a bit and falls off in flakes. However, the bar has a delicate taste, because the mass itself is not too sweet, it is thick, sticky, very cheesey. however, I find it a bit bland and sticky.

The strawberry flavor was a bit artificial, but quite tasty, you can feel the aftertaste of sweetener and strawberries, but nothing like home-made fit cottage cheese bars. On the other hand, I liked the cappuccino as a dessert with coffee, sweet and biscuit or tiramisu. Definitely better!

The bar is very light, but I grabbed one for a quick craving for coffee and I have to admit that I stuffed myself with it for two hours, and that’s something. Despite the small capacity, it does the job when hungry. Maybe because of the stickiness?

Protein curd bar on keto?

The Pilos bar contains only 8 g of carbohydrates, it is also quite fat, but it has sugar in it and the general composition is not suitable for Keto, but it is known that sometimes something can be done.

Summary: are Pilos bars worth buying?

Curd bars were a tasty curiosity to test. However, they are small and not the cheapest for this capacity. The composition is also not ideal, even on a fit diet. Their worst disadvantage is the content of sugar and palm oil. They will not satisfy hunger for long despite being stuffed with sweet curd mass.

Is it actually a protein product, since it has so little protein, or just clever marketing, how to sell bars not only to children? Judge for yourself. Sometimes I will buy a banana one, but out of sentiment, I wouldn’t treat it as a source of protein and would rather just eat skyr with fresh strawberries.
