Biomed SuperWhite, fluoride-free toothpaste

Hi! Today is about a new product – Biomed SuperWhite coconut toothpaste. I also rarely use whitening strips and specialized whitening toothpastes, every now and then, when I notice that there is more deposit on the enamel and the teeth need it. Usually then I use homemade coconut oil and activated carbon toothpastes; because it was hard for me to find such a toothpaste without fluoride in the drugstore.

Therefore, when I noticed such a novelty on the shelf and in a small promotion, I immediately decided to buy it. It is definitely a convenience and ease of use for me.

The most important ingredients and their properties:

  • hydroxyapatite – completes the structure of the enamel and strengthens it, blending in with micro-cavities and cracks on its surface; thanks to the presence of hydroxyapatite, BIOMED Superwhite toothpaste reduces the feeling of pain in case of tooth hypersensitivity – this component seals the exposed tooth tubules, which are connected directly with the nerve endings transmitting external stimuli and causing pain, among others cold and sweet drinks and food;
  • coconut oil – extract from the hard part of coconut fruit, the so-called copra, which due to the content of lauric acid has a strong antibacterial, fungicidal and virucidal effect; effectively protects the oral cavity against the development of harmful bacteria and reduces the risk of infection;
  • cinnamon extract and thyme oil – have an antibacterial effect, give the paste a unique aftertaste;
  • papain and bromelain – natural enzymes that help effectively remove plaque and deposits on the enamel surface; their task is to loosen debris and gently dissolve them to make it easier to get rid of them during brushing;
  • vitamins E, K, PP and carotene, responsible for strengthening the blood vessels and strengthening the gums.

BIOMED toothpastes are completely safe and do not contain: fluoride, chlorhexidine, triclosan and other strong antiseptics, SLS / SLES, parabens, aggressive whitening agents and abrasive particles.

My opinion:

Biomed coconut paste has an interesting, natural composition and a soft, aesthetic packaging, from which it is easy to dose the paste, even when it is about to run out. I cut open the packaging, but only at the end of use. The color of the paste is white, thinner than my diy coconut oil paste. The consistency of the Biomed paste is also more full-bodied, both the smell and taste of this paste is quite delicate, unobtrusive coconut.

I am fed up with the intensely minty flavors of drugstore liquids and pastes that burn my mouth, so this is a big advantage for me. Despite this, you can feel a refreshing mouth, which lasts even a long time. Biomed SuperWhite toothpaste does not foam well, it is a natural toothpaste without fluoride and sls, but it covers and cleans the teeth thoroughly. Impression like any other drugstore toothpaste (e.g. Ziaja’s fluoride-free toothpaste foams profusely) and not coconut oil, which rubs more dull and oily on the teeth. So the consistency is a plus. Biomed toothpaste leaves well-cleaned, polished teeth, it also has a good effect on the health of my gums, and I had problems with that.

How is whitening?

I did not notice the big effects of teeth whitening right away, but my teeth gradually became whiter. It is not very visible, quite gentle whitening effect, but satisfactory for me – you can see that the effect of this organic toothpaste is not only mechanical, strong abrasion of the enamel, as it sometimes happened to me with a herbal toothpaste without fluoride. The teeth looked much better. I think that the effects would be better with longer use. Certainly more visible in people with more sediment than mine.

After using the tube, I used DIY toothpaste and I’m running out of it, especially the easy-to-wash consistency. One month after finishing the packaging, I noticed that, unfortunately, the teeth are returning to their former condition. So it’s time for the next treatments.

Summary:

This will make a great fluoride-free toothpaste for kids. Not only because of the mild taste, but also the healing effect on the new teeth. It is possible that I will buy it again – maybe not the Biomed Superwhite paste, but its version with honey? The price scares me off, because, fortunately, you can find a paste with a good composition in any drugstore for a few coins.
