Sage Salvia officinalis (Salvia officinalis) is one of the most well-known healing herbs. The raw material used in cosmetics is its leaves. It contains disinfectant essential oils, catechin tannins, phenolic acids, triterpene acids, mineral salts, phytosterols, vitamins B and C and flavonoids.
Sage has disinfecting and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it is often used in the production of hair cosmetics, for example in anti-dandruff shampoos. Sage has anti-seborrhea and anti-dandruff properties, decongestes the scalp and prevents irritation. Darkens hair and smoothes it, gives them depth and beautiful glow.
Anti-dandruff lotion from sage
Sage has antifungal properties, but it also helps oily hair, because it reduces the secretion of sebum and disinfects the scalp. It eliminates itching caused by yeasts and all irritations and strengthens hair roots.
Black tea (leafy and strong, e.g. Earl Gray)
Vodka or other strong alcohol
Prepare the brew with a glass of boiling water, a spoonful of sage with a spoonful of black tea. Cover and brew to stretch. Then look away. Add a tablespoon of vodka to the cooled mixture, mix and leave for about an hour. Waste your skin thoroughly. Just use 5 ml of the mixture at a time, using a syringe or a bottle with a spout. Keep your wafer in the fridge. Use it for at least 5 days in a row, and the condition of the scalp should significantly improve.
Hair releasing rinse
Sage also has coloring properties, so it can permanently darken (to some extent) gray hair, without destroying or weakening the bulbs, as do strong chemical paints and popular suckers.
Unfortunately, there is no immediate action like chemicals. You will have to wait for the results and repeat the treatment several times.
However, I have tested this method on myself and I assure you, at least for the first, single, gray hair at the temples.
Preparing the hair releasing rinse
Leaves of nettles
Mix 2 tablespoons of dried sage with the same amount of strong black tea and nettle leaves. It’s best to do it in a plastic bowl. Pour the herbs boiling water. Cover the bowl with a lid or aluminum foil and put in a preheated oven at 190 degrees, ideally for a few hours. You can also put a mix for the whole night at the heater.
The infusion should be very dark. Then take out the mixture, cool it and strain it out of the drought. We keep it for a few days in the fridge.
Dip the swab in the mixture and apply a small amount of infusion to the places where gray hair appears, for example in the temple. You can also take the mixture into the syringe and distribute it along the parting, imitating hair covering with the paint.
Mask for scalp with salvia
This is one of the most time-consuming methods, because we have to prepare such a mixture the day before and keep it on the head for a long time, but it is also more effective – in my opinion – from the waster. It works especially with gray, bright shoots, the mask covers them completely with a layer of herbs and can evenly color the partitions.
This mask works for both dandruff and gray hair.
How to do:
Three tablespoons of Sage Salvia
A spoon of nettles and oak bark
A spoon of honey or glycerine
* Optionally, you can add other herbs, I often add Tulsi, which even better disinfects the scalp, as well as ground rhizome of calamus and horsetail.
Grind the herbs finely, for example with a coffee grinder. We pour into the bowl – it’s always worth making fresh mixes, do not keep on stock.
Pour the mix overnight with water and honey to the level of herbs. In the morning they should have a darker color and the mixture should be thicker, because the herbs are soaked with water.
Add a little water, drops of essential oil or conditioner to make the paste easier to grease. We wash our hair with a shampoo and strong detergent. Cover the scalp evenly with a paste and wrap it, preferably with a plastic wrap or a cap. We do not cover the hair length, but you can smear it with a light touch.
We keep the mask on the head for at least half an hour, it’s better to leave it for the whole hour. Then, rinse your hair thoroughly with cold running water.
If you can not rinse the remaining herbs or the hair seems stiff, you can wash them again with a milder shampoo, but then the effect of dyeing will certainly be smaller.
We usually use this mask once a week.
It is cumbersome to use, but as I mentioned, it is the most effective. Such a cure helped me to tone my white, gray hair, I also have a spurt of baby hair and … Well, sincerely hope that it also accelerates my hair growth 🙂
