  • 400g ground beef or ground beef and pork (you can also use ground turkey)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, grated
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1 can of tomatoes (400g)
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 250ml beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 teaspoons of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 400g spaghetti


  1. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, fry for about 5 minutes until the onion is soft and lightly browned.
  2. Add the ground meat to the pot and fry, stirring frequently, until the meat is well browned.
  3. Add grated carrots and chopped celery, and fry for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Pour the canned tomatoes into the pot, add tomato paste, beef or vegetable broth, and seasonings: oregano and basil. Season with salt and pepper according to taste.
  5. Cook the sauce for about 30-40 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and the flavors combine.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package.
  7. When the spaghetti is ready, drain it and serve with the bolognese sauce. You can also sprinkle with grated Parmesan or grated cheddar cheese.
