Olaplex No.3, hair regenerating treatment | test and opinion

Hello guys! Today I have another entry for you from the series of hair guides – Olaplex No. 3 , a home treatment for nourishment, regeneration and hydration, especially when the hair is damaged due to styling, dyeing or bleaching.

The OLAPLEX system is an innovative solution that aims to regenerate damaged hair after coloring, brightening and high temperature. It quickly revolutionized the hairdressing market and was hailed as one of the most effective products for effective hair restoration after chemical treatments.

As you know, for the last few weeks I have tested the Olaplex No. 0 and No. 3 double regeneration kit myself and it worked great for me. today came a quick test of the second product in the series, i.e. no. 3. If you are interested in how to best use it and what my skin care treatment looks like and the effects of Olaplex for hair regeneration, I invite you to the rest of this post.

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector – my opinion, test and results

Usage according to the manufacturer :

Apply the product to wet (not previously shampooed, only well-soaked) and well-towel-dried hair, then comb it with a comb. We leave the product for a minimum of 10 minutes or longer. Then we rinse the hair and apply the conditioner.

1. Cleansing hair washing with a strong detergent.

The first step in any treatment for me is thorough hair cleansing. The manufacturer recommends applying Olaplex No. 3 on wet, wet hair , it is not specified, however, whether they should be clean. In my opinion, the treatment will not work on hair that has a supplement of proteins and styling and care products, especially silicone ones. Before a mask or any treatment that intensively regenerates my hair, I cleanse it thoroughly with a strong shampoo, and so I did now.

First, I thoroughly but gently comb my hair dry, in the direction of washing my hair (in my case, head down over the bathtub). I washed the scalp and the length twice with a cleansing shampoo (with strong SLS detergents with a simple composition, such as Barwa, Joanna Naturia), and rinsing with warm water.

I then gently squeezed my hair into a towel to get rid of excess water. I gently combed the length – first with my fingers, then with a comb with widely spaced teeth.

2. Application of Olaplex Hair Perfector

I divided the prepared hair into 4 parts and fastened it with hairdressing clips. I shook Olaplex well . The product has a soft package and a typical plug, you have to squeeze the conditioner out of it or shake it on your hand. Unfortunately, very small portions of the white cream come out, so beware of impatiently shaking too much at once, which just happened to me, so I would advise you to be careful about that.

Each time I tried to apply the product in equal amounts and evenly to each strand, starting with the most damaged ends upwards. Then massage it in well and press it with your fingers.

The product has a slightly cosmetic smell, pleasant, liquid-like, but spreads well, like a medium-thick conditioner. The manufacturer recommends applying it to the entire length of the hair, from the roots to the ends, but I have not noticed that my scalp has problems with damage, so I applied from 1/3 of the length, exactly the same as liquid No. 0.

Then I combed the length of my hair to distribute the product even better and left it for 10 minutes . I use additionally under the foil and a warm cap, heated underneath with a dryer.

3. Warm compress.

You should leave the cosmetic on your hair for at least 10 minutes or longer – as recommended by the manufacturer, but opinions are also divided here. Some leave it for an hour, some for 3-4, others for the whole night, but I do not recommend keeping any product on wet hair for more than an hour for fear of damage. The manufacturer claims that the product stops working after 2 hours, so longer is not better. I left them in a warm turban for about an hour, same as for the first test.

4. Washing your hair.

After this time, I took off my cap and rinsed thoroughly. You can wash your hair with shampoo, but it is not necessary, Oleplex can easily stay on the hair for the benefit of us and I did not wash it either, but I applied an additional emollient conditioner with silicones to the ends, rinsed with cool water after about a minute. I dried my hair using the warm and then cool blow dryer method.

Using Olaplex, my effects:

As with the use of a hair regenerating duo, the visual effects were immediately visible in the form of smoothing, closing the cuticles, I could feel the wonderful softness and flow of the hair. After drying and styling, they were slippery and straight, as if thickened and slightly covered with wax or a layer of light silicones. The effect was slightly smaller than in test no. 1 and the use of a duo of products, but it was still a noticeable improvement in the condition of the hair.

I am also very satisfied with my second test, for my hair type such a treatment would probably be sufficient. However, I could use it more often, and less, as hairdressers recommend, then the healing effects on hair would be even better.

I think I will stop using the duo as a powerful shock treatment and focus on more frequent treatments with a small amount of both products. The liquid no.0 can be mixed with nutrients with a simple composition and you can achieve a product like no.3, which is as cheap as possible for such a professional, but home treatment. The effects will be better, and the entire regeneration will be budgetary. In the next post, I will show you just such a test.

Again, I didn’t use too much of the product for waist-length hair, about 2 tablespoons, despite the fact that it spilled too much on my hand, so I’m going to test it more willingly.

I hope I helped you at least a little!
I give you a warm hug, Asia.
