Hi guys! Drugstore deodorant Isana without aluminum salt -can it be effective? Each of us knows how difficult it is to find a good and effective deodorant, especially if we want to have a product with a good composition, without aluminum salts and irritating alcohol. There are not many such products on the market.
I’ve already tested a few of them, but none of them proved to be effective enough, especially during training and hot summer. That’s why I have been making my own homemade deodorants for years, which are sufficient every day and at least remove the unpleasant smell of sweat.
I also often buy cheap, perhaps the cheapest, drugstore Isana deodorants. When they are on promotion, I even catch a few of them with different scent variants. This one is by far the best version, soothing and gentle on sensitive skin, especially after epilation.
It is a good solution when we do not need maximum protection against sweat and an alternative to self-made cosmetics.

The most important ingredients and their properties
This cosmetic contains only moisturizing and soothing ingredients: smoothing Glyceryl, aloe juice soothing irritation, moisturizing glycerin and cetyl alcohol. Thickening agent and safe preservatives at the end of the composition – correct, the composition is great. However, the only deodorant here is triethyl citrate – it reduces the unpleasant smell of sweat, used mainly in deodorants and antiperspirants. It is right after the water, which means there is a lot of it – I am actually surprised why this product does not work more effectively 😉
My opinion Isana:
Isana deodorant belongs to the Med line, i.e. the one with a better composition, more gentle on the skin, but also in pharmacy.
The product is definitely cheap, very cheap. Nevertheless, it has a nice packaging, similar to other products of this type from the sensitive series of much more expensive brands. The plastic is solid, it does not leak, the ball is small and handy. The product is head down, which is a good solution – it is thin, pourable, thanks to which the ball is always moist and ready to use, you do not have to wait for it to drain.
The deodorant is easy to spread and absorbs well. Sometimes I put on too much of it, because it is so runny – then the skin is a bit sticky and you have to wait before putting on the clothes. I forgot about it a few times, yet the product does not stain the blouse, it does not leave visible white streaks.
The fragrance is delicate, powdery, typical of sensitive products or men’s sport deodorants. Very pleasant, but disappears quickly. The Isana Med deodorant did not dry my skin, irritate it or cause allergies.
How does a deodorant work without aluminum?
Well, according to the manufacturer’s assurances, it is supposed to be active 24 hours. This is obviously cheap marketing. Have you ever seen a deodorant that was NOT supposed to be “mega, extra 24, 48 hours, sport, active, protect, plus”? This is to encourage us to buy, but by common sense, what action do we expect from a cheap drugstore deodorant for a few zlotys?
Which does not contain aluminum salts – which ingredient is responsible for the effectiveness of typical deodorants, unfortunately is harmful – or other, patented, extensive research of ingredients that are somehow antiperspirant?
Well, there isn’t. This is how this product works – it reduces the unpleasant smell of sweat caused by bacteria, soothes and does not contain any harmful substances.
How is it in practice?
Medium. Every day, when I don’t move from the vicinity of the house, his protection was enough for me. I felt fresh, applying it every morning, I liked the smell and it provided me with quite a lot of protection. I didn’t have wet stains under my armpits, nor did I smell a bad smell.
Its effect ended after a few hours, then I felt fresh and I apply it again or I help myself with a spray deodorant, which also gives me a nice feeling of refreshment.
In the heat, outdoors, with sports, the deodorant without aluminum did not work at all, after a few tests I stopped using it and remained a home deodorant.
It can, however, work for people who are not so active and have no problems with sweating; will provide a mild feeling of refreshment and mental comfort that we have some protection against sweat.

Is it worth buying this product?
Yes:
- if you want a cheap and mild aluminum-free product every day, when you do not need maximum protection against sweat
- if you don’t feel fresh and at ease without using any deodorant product
- it is a good alternative to self-made cosmetics
- it is very cheap and its effectiveness should be tested on yourself
No:
- if you need maximum and effective protection against sweat all day long
