Boots, Extra Firm Hold foam and Boots, Curl cream for curly hair

Hi guys! Finally, the time has come for more stylists reviews on my blog, so I decided to tell you about Boots Essentials, Extra Firm Hold foam and Curl Creme, Curl cream. Curl Creme is a very cheap and efficient cream from Drogeria Boots, which I bought while working in England, i.e. it was one of the first stylers that I started using since I started conscious hair care.

I was very curious about his actions, because I was tempted by reviews on Polish and foreign blogs with curly hair for a long time. This cream is designed to permanently define the curls, limit fluff, nourish and add shine, which are typical promises of manufacturers of hair stylers. I don’t always bring out the curl myself, although I have some curls, most often I twist them with rollers, on a sock or braids. So I could test this cream in many roles – as a B / S conditioner, foundation for a strong gel, foam, as a styler itself, etc.

Extra Firm Hold foam for curls is a very strong, but ordinary foam with a fairly good composition – without alcohol and parabens, so many curly-haired people from England recommended this cheap and good cosmetic to try. If you are interested in how cosmetics work for me in all these roles, I invite you to the rest of the post.

Boots Essentials, Curl Creme

Boots curl cream, my opinion:

Boots is a popular chain of drugstores and pharmacies in the UK and Ireland, such as Superpharm. They offer many typical and drugstore cosmetics, and many products for curly hair of almost all types, including those with their own logo – Boots cream for curls and styling gel.

I bought this cream while working in England, so it was one of the first stylers that I started using since I started conscious hair care. It costs ridiculous money there – 2 pounds, or 10 zlotys, and it is often on promotions. For comparison, in Poland you can find it on the Internet, for 30, 60 or even 80 PLN, so I recommend you to buy it if you are ever in the UK.

Package:

Transparent plastic with blue inscriptions, inside we have a thick, light pink cream. The smell bland, gentle as soap, did not bother me. The cream has a thick and pudding texture, very pleasant to use.

Boots cream has a purely emollient composition, with one polymer that fixes the twist, then there are mainly preservatives and additives. The product is incompatible with the CG method: although it has alcohol, it is at the end of the composition and surrounded by emollients, so it is unlikely to dry the curls.

Action:

I was very curious about his actions, because I was tempted by reviews on Polish and foreign blogs with curly hair for a long time. This cream is designed to permanently define the curls, limit fluff, nourish and add shine, which are typical promises of manufacturers of hair stylers. I don’t always bring out the curl myself, although I have some curls, most often I twist them with rollers, on a sock or braids. So I could test this cream in many roles – as a B / S conditioner, a foundation for a strong gel, for a foam, as a styler itself.

The cream must be applied sparingly, it is quite greasy, you also have to rub it well in your hands and try to press it evenly into all the curls. Usually, I applied it right after washing, instead of a gel on the dripping hair, and kneaded. I have not used a leave-in conditioner under it, because it is emollient itself and there was no such need. Unfortunately it didn’t work perfectly here, the curls weren’t defined or underlined, but no wonder – my weak twist needs some strong stylers. However, when applied under a strong gel (like Syoss), it reduced dryness and rusks, gave me soft waves, and kept my turn one day longer. In this case, I was delighted – it worked even better for me than the Cantu Activator, which sometimes weighed down my hair.

Similar: Skrzypovita Pro, anti-hair loss shampoo

I also found a brilliant use for it – Boots cream works best for me for resuscitating curls and waves. I lightly soak my hair, apply a little cream and dry my hair with a diffuser along with a kneading. This effect of softness and emphasis is really great then.

Boots mousse for curls, my opinion:

Extra Firm Hold foam for curls is a very strong, but ordinary foam with a fairly good composition – without alcohol and parabens, so many curly-haired people from England recommended this cheap and good cosmetic to try. It is allegedly so popular that it is sometimes hard to find on the shelves of this drugstore. Especially when it’s a promotion – if you can think that a nice cosmetic for curly hair could be even cheaper … My friend has already gone through many packages of this cheap foam, because it holds her hair perfectly and is, well, cheap and with great capacity. So I also decided to try it out.

The mousse does not have particularly nice graphics, it resembles low-shelf stylers from the 90s, but it has a huge capacity and good composition – a lot of polymers and the like, so it will be really strong, but also fear that it may weigh down and clump your hair. Nothing like that happened with me, the foam has a good pump that will not break easily – a big plus, it has a nice smell and a good effect. For me, it is not too strong, but it holds my curls nicely, I do not see any difference in its operation with other, popular in Poland, foams. Together with the cream and a bit of gel at the end of the styling, it creates bouncy and soft curls that survive even the English rain.

Summary:

Boots ESSENTIALS, CURL CREME is a cream for waves and curls with a fairly low strength. I think, however, that it is very worth testing, especially for people with a strong twist of curls, it can work best. (Thin hair, however, will most likely weigh it down.) The cream is cheap and has a nice composition, creating beautiful, soft and shiny curls. In addition, it adds a lot of weight to the hair and extends my curl.

Just think that I bought it to try it for 2 pounds (10 zlotys) in my neighborhood Boots. In Poland, you can still get it on Allegro and in online stores for curly-haired people, but for PLN 30- PLN 80, which is a total rip off.

The foam is very cheap, efficient and has a great capacity, and its operation suits me very well, all in all, I do not see any difference in its operation with other, popular in Poland, foams, so for this price – it is definitely worth testing.
