Balea Locken, the cheap mousse and spray for curly hair

Hello dear! The time has finally come for more stylers reviews on my blog, so I decided to tell you about Balea Locken, a cheap mousse and spray for curly hair. For me, these are definitely cosmetics that can be intended for curly hair – they are to moisturize them, define curls and fix the hairstyle.

I especially like the description of the hair spray, because it is so multifunctional, it is not only a styler in itself, it can also be a primer for curls, but it can also be used as a spray conditioner, for thermo protection when drying, a leave-in conditioner or for resuscitation of curls on the second day. So as you can see, this one can have many functions, but the most interesting thing for me is to use it as a hairspray and for resuscitation. The composition is promising and the cosmetic is cheap and has a large capacity. Balea foam, on the other hand, does not seem to be any special product to me, but I also wanted to test it, since it is recommended by my friends as a good and cheap product from DRogeria DM.

As soon as I saw these products on a store shelf during a trip to Berlin, they immediately interested me and after a quick analysis of the ingredients, I decided to buy and test them. They were also very cheap, even without promotion in DM. If you are interested in how cosmetics work for me in all these roles, I invite you to the rest of the post.

Balea Locken Styling, my opinion:

Balea foam is a very popular cosmetic among curly-haired people in Europe, although, judging by its composition, it is a strong, but ordinary foam with a fairly good, short, but also poor composition – without alcohol, adhesives or parabens. It is also very cheap and readily available. How did it work for me?

The manufacturer promises to hold the hair firmly, and the name itself – a cosmetic especially for curls – encouraged me a lot. I have 2B / 2C wave curls and this mousse works very well for me. I can safely say that it is really strong, but not stronger than the others that I tested. The foam has the usual, simple packaging typical of every Balea series and a good pump, which I hope will not break easily, because Isana has already done it several times.

I tested it both as a styler – a mousse for damp hair and curling without heat, and together with gel and cream, for typical wavy hair squeezing. In both cases, I was satisfied with its action, it did not stick my hair together, it did not weigh down, it did not frizz, and it kept soft and elastic curls for a long time. The foam gives my twist a nice boost and keeps it going for quite a long time.

Locken Styling, Curly Hair Mousse is also very efficient, I don’t see any wear after testing it for months. I am glad that I finally reached for it, it is worth giving it a chance.

Balea, Spray for styling curly hair, Power Spray Traumlocken is my next spray for wavy hair, because I am still looking for my ideal. I bought the whole series for testing thanks to him. Balea Spray can have many functions, but the most interesting thing for me is using it as a hairspray and to resuscitate the curls. The composition is promising, according to the instructions it can be used as a leave-in conditioner, apply it to wet hair, then style and dry it. Unfortunately, it did not work for me as a conditioner for detangling my hair – neither after washing, on damp hair, because it made it very stiff and stuck together, let alone dry.

This product complies with the CG method. However, it contains proteins and high in composition, theoretically it boosts the curl, but if your hair doesn’t like it too much, this spray probably won’t work. It also contains a few light oils so they shouldn’t weigh your hair down. It also contains glycerin quite high.

The spray is convenient to use because it has a good atomiser and the unscrewed top brings out a good mist. The spray itself slightly emphasizes the curl and leaves the hair soft, but it is not a definite curl or permanent. Using it as a varnish did not work at all. However, it is suitable as a thermal protection, it perfectly protects the hair against warm air from the dryer. Maybe for some people it can be detangled.

For me, however, it is most often used immediately after washing my hair, or in between, for resuscitation, to refresh the waves. In combination with the Isana curl cream or this foam, the effect is great for me. Usually, I would apply it to the dripping hair and knead it. My weak twist needs strong stylers, so I didn’t even try to use it solo, but when applied under a strong gel (like Syoss), it reduced dryness and rusks, gave me soft waves and supported the twist. My hair is smoothed and styled nicely, I can see the hydration and glow of fleshy curls.

Summary:

I believe that Balea Locken Styling, Curly Hair Mousse is worth testing, especially for wavy people, it can work well. This mousse is quite strong, defines curls well, is suitable for curly hair, sets the curls out without unloading or weighing them down. The only thing I could dream of is a better composition that will moisturize or nourish my hair, but in the end it is a very cheap product from the drugstore. The foam is efficient, accessible and has a great capacity, and I liked its operation very well, so for this price – I recommend it, it is definitely worth testing.

Balea, Spray for styling curly hair, Power Spray Traumlocken is also good, it is above all light, good ingredients and very affordable, I would recommend it as a refreshing spray and for resuscitating curls.

Have you heard of these Balea products?
