Hey guys! I come to you today with another short review of hair care cosmetics, this time it’s L’oreal Elseve Dream Long, a detangling conditioner for long and damaged hair.
I tested this cosmetic some time ago, because I bought it in London when it was still a novelty not available on the Polish cosmetics market. Of course, I was tempted by the fact that L’oreal Elseve is a conditioner for long hair, which is probably emollient and silicone to protect the ends of the hair. I did not even know the famous advertisement or composition, and I already decided to look for it for testing. My dream of long, smooth hair without trimming was activated … Unfortunately, the composition and the method of use suggested by the manufacturer surprised me a lot, that’s why the conditioner waited out on the shelf and then the same amount in the bathroom, when I was using it very slowly. Ultimately, the cosmetic found its way to my denko 20 design in 2020. If you are curious why L’oreal Elseve has not fully tested it, I invite you to my short review.

L’ORÉAL PARIS ELSEVE DREAM LONG: my opinion
Package:
The conditioner is hidden in a plastic, handy tube made of soft plastic in a wild orange color. Typical for the entire series and other L’ORÉAL drugstore cosmetics. The tube is upside down and it’s easy to squeeze out any remaining product. It’s good that it is transparent and we know how much cosmetic is left. You will probably need to cut the packaging to get the leftovers.
The conditioner has a medium-thick consistency and a strong, floral scent, very pleasant and long-lasting.
Properties:
I tested this cosmetic some time ago, because I bought it in London when it was still a novelty not available on the Polish cosmetics market. Both the name and the advertisement of this product are very misleading. It is known that slogans such as: sticking ends, regenerating damaged hair or keratin on the packaging of hair products sell well, but plant keratin instead of plant proteins that this product contains sounds a bit strange. After all, this compound is made up of a set of vegetable proteins: wheat, soy and corn. Besides, it has a typical drugstore composition, emollients with a bit of moisturizers, not too rich, but not too bad. It is easily suitable for everyday use, unfortunately it probably won’t do bagpipes on our hair.
However, you should not apply the conditioner on or near the scalp, it contains a set of preservatives and silicone at the end of the composition. In fact, I use it for hair ends, for early stages and / or as a leave-in conditioner. Hair after washing does not look great, the hair is not dry from isopropyl alcohol, which I was a bit afraid of, but also not weighted down by castor oil and silicone, the curls are a bit straightened. I don’t know how she could help grow long hair.

Summary:
I tested it several times during the design of the bottom in various roles – first O, to emulsify oils, as an oil primer, but the results were always average. However, it delicately smoothes the strands and smells beautiful, it is easy to detangle the hair and this is probably what L’ORÉAL conditioner works for. As a serum for hair ends, with or without rinsing. In this role, however, I used it for almost a year and I do not plan to buy it again – I know a lot of other cosmetics with better composition and effect. I don’t really recommend it, except for the fragrance.
