Washing hair with Micellar Cleansing Water – no poo

Hello! Today I have another post for you about the basics of hair care, like washing hair with micellar Cleansing Water no poo.

This is part of the series I abandoned long ago about how to wash your hair properly and how to wash no poo. However, I decided to come back to this, especially since I use the inversion method from time to time to accelerate hair growth and test newer and newer methods, thanks to which I will not have to wash oil from hair every day.

Hair washing with micellar fluid is the least known method of washing hair, which sounds quite strange, but it works perfectly especially with oily scalp, which needs frequent refreshing. The liquid perfectly replaces drying dry shampoos and is worth taking with you on any trip away from home, especially when we use micellar liquid for make-up removal anyway. How does such a fluid work? I invite you to the rest of the post!

Is washing hair with micellar fluid effective?

Micellar lotions are popular cosmetics for makeup removal that have the same functions as olives and milks. The fluid consists of water, micelles and extracts. Micelles, in turn, are nothing more than mild surfactants that “attract” any dirt particles to each other like magnesium. For this reason, many people also use face cleansers instead of hard tap water. Micelles are also found in shampoos, but not individually, and surrounded by other washing detergents. So as you can see, they have a good chance of thoroughly cleaning our hair too.

Which micellar fluid should you choose?

You will definitely need to look at their composition – not every liquid will be useful for such a head wash. Let’s take a look at natural cosmetics or at least those with short compositions to avoid later unpleasant surprises. I would also be guided by the price, especially if we just want to test a new method and do not use cosmetics every day.

Ingredients that should be in the INCI composition of such a fluid include:

  • Decyl Glucoside,
  • Polysorbate 20.
  • Coco-Glucoside,
  • Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate,
  • Sodium Cocoamphodiacetate,
  • PEG-40/60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,
  • Cetrimonium Bromide,

I tested two fluids that I already had at home and wanted to use: Bishojo , Bioderma, Ziaja, Relief for sensitive skin and Sylveco Linden micellar fluid .

How to wash your hair with micellar fluid

The washing method is very similar to the use of wipes. A small amount of liquid – 1, 2 flat tablespoons are sufficiently enough – we draw in with a syringe or pipette and we ONLY inject the scalp to distribute the liquid evenly over the entire surface. Thanks to this, we only need such a small amount of liquid, the more that it additionally foams and begins to flow between the hair, down during washing – so we do not apply it to the entire surface of the greasy hair, but finish slightly above.

Ultimately, you can also pour liquid from the bottle cap, but there is a risk of spillage. Then massage the skin with your fingers until foam is formed. Finally, you can rinse your head with cool tap water, also gently massaging.

Hair length and ends can dry out with this method, so it is better to wash them with conditioner or water only.

How do I wash my hair with micellar fluid?

I don’t have much experience with it yet, but I did tests on the occasion of daily head oiling during the inversion method week. I usually wash the top of my head with a liquid, spraying pineapple hair in an upright position, massage the scalp for a while and wash the water or let it dry. And I just leave the rest of my hair to wash again.

Hair washing with micellar fluid and oiling

The liquid should not have problems with washing oils, but of course, it is not worth exaggerating with the amount applied to the hair. And their type – with saturated shea butter oils the matter will be more difficult. It is good to massage the scalp thoroughly, from the tip to the neck and of course – rinse thoroughly.

The level of washing should be satisfactory and although I had the impression that it was even better after more than once, it did not bother me at all. For the next day I always planned a bigger washing, this time with a conditioner. Scalp after such washing is soothed and moisturized, and the hair is not over-dried. They can enjoy the whole benefit of this oiling without fear of damage during daily washing with detergents.

Summarizing:

As you can see, such no poo washing takes a really small amount of time, and is very effective and healthy for hair. I will definitely try this method again – on the go, when we have the option of choosing a hotel mini shampoo, dry shampoo or even soap … It can also act as an alternate washing when using the inversion method for someone who, for example, gives much less oil on a scalp or uses lighter, unsaturated oils. It is worth a try!

Do you use natural washing methods in your care? What other can you recommend me?
