Dove, Nourishing Oil Care | hair news

Hey guys! I am starting another hair test, this time of a popular series of hair care cosmetics: shampoo and conditioner from Dove, Nourishing Oil Care.

This variant is intended for dry and frizzy hair, i.e. probably damaged hair, so I hope it will help my dry hair after dyeing. The products are supposed to provide the hair with deep nourishment and make it incredibly smooth. Looking at the emollient composition, with a lot of oils they have a chance to really help our hair. That is why I have a good feeling about these cosmetics, despite the fact that I usually test natural, niche cosmetics, not popular drugstore series. However, I decided to give them a chance, after all, what matters is the composition, and thus the effect of cosmetics. So if you are curious how they worked for me, I invite you to the rest of the post.

First impressions:

I am glad that the line of popular, drugstore Dove Garnier Fructis cosmetics has been enriched with products with oils. I have some of my favorites among their classic products, so I was positive about these new products as well. I opened the cosmetics right away, sniffed them, and put them in the bathroom to start testing. How did they work for me?

Dove, hair shampoo

it has a very nice, subtle smell – cotton, enveloping – and is very creamy, which makes the use more pleasant. It also foams very well and is therefore very efficient. Such a bottle will last a long time. the shampoo does not tangle long hair and even helps to detangle it. But why… Exactly. The first surprise, however, was that it contains silicones – and a water-soluble form highly in the composition! Not only that – four! As a rule, I avoid such cosmetics, because as a owner of a sensitive scalp, I am afraid that they will quickly cause greasy and clogging of the hair follicles, and thus – huge loss, dandruff and other revelations. Let’s add that the shampoo also contains aggressive detergents and a mild one, which is my second surprise.

I suspected the company that he made a dishwashing shampoo for dry, damaged hair and softened it with silicones and oils, so that after washing the impression of “nourishment” and softness of the hair was positive. But after a while I stopped with such a sharp opinion because, well, this line is actually for difficult, dry and damaged hair, so these ingredients will help keep your hair in check, tame, comb and above all protect it. After all, I use silicones myself, I also used silicone shampoo when my hair was burned with bleaching, only to the length, but I find that they helped to some extent. And SLS detergents are the basis of drugstore shampoos … So what can I say?

The shampoo will somehow help restore dry hair to better condition, at least visually. I would not expect nourishment with oils, certainly not from a scalp cleansing product. If you have really problematic hair, you can try as often as possible – visually, it will definitely be in better condition, especially if you improve it with the conditioner from the same series.

As for the Dove conditioner

it also has silicone and it’s high, it has oils, it also has paraffin. This is a very typical product for me – I use them to close the hair care, at the very end of washing my hair, often together with the early stages. Such a conditioner will close the hair cuticles, will make it shiny, soften, protect the ends well – especially in winter – and will probably also give a nice scent. However, before that, I apply a nourishing mask, as with every wash. There is no need to write about a product with such a simple composition – but praise Dove that they did not pack any protein.

Here we have a typical emollient, very creamy and fun to use. It’s very long hair, early and quick washing like it found – my hair is shiny, smooth and smells wonderful. For this time of the year, the paraffin will protect the hair from cold, wind and rubbing. I really wouldn’t expect more from a cheap, daily conditioner from a drugstore.

summarizing

Dove, Nourishing Oil Care is a simple and fun series. Despite the manufacturer’s assurances, it is not able to improve the condition of our hair or nourish it, but it will improve its visual appearance and provide daily protection for dry hair. For quick hair washing in winter – the price and smell are encouraging, it’s worth trying. But on a daily basis, use oils, treatments and deeply nourishing masks for damaged hair, which will already work much better.
