AA Plant power, face cream red algae and jasmine

Cream AA Plant Power I bought a 2 + 2 promotion at drogerie, although I really wanted to catch a new botanical series of Bielenda to have complete sets – creams and serums to be tested comprehensively, but unfortunately …

The store was small, the promotion was ending, I only had the last micellar liquid left on the shelves . As is usual in these big drugstores, the shelves are sagging, but there is not much to choose from with a good composition. This AA cream seemed the best to me at first glance, it has oils in the middle of the composition, not at the end, it has extracts, the manufacturer promised no dyes and parabens on the packaging, so I thought, why not, you can always try it. In the end, I happened to find a few drugstore gems among products that I normally wouldn’t pay attention to. How was it this time? If you are interested, please check the post.

The most important ingredients and their properties

  • Algae extract , living in extremely low temperatures, under the influence of strong UV radiation, produce a red dye that stimulates the natural processes of skin regeneration (stimulates the longevity gene), eliminating the signs of skin aging at the cellular level.
  • Jasmine extract , rich in flavonoids, improves elasticity and strengthens the skin, making it smooth.
  • The Hydroboost complex provides intensive and long-lasting hydration , retaining water in the epidermis and protecting the skin from drying out.
  • The ceramide complex strengthens the skin structure and supports its barrier functions.

My opinion:

We buy the cream in a cardboard box wrapped in foil, inside we find half the size of the cream in a transparent glass jar. The looks and prints are aesthetically pleasing, but they look like any other drugstore cream, not a natural, eco or hypoallergenic product in some way, as you’d judge from the manufacturer’s description.

Why did I buy it intended for people 40+?

Because the percentage assumptions are conventional, this is ordinary marketing. The “anti-wrinkle” and “summer plus” badges only mean that the more, the more the product will have a slightly higher content of good extracts, oils and moisturizing ingredients that mature skin needs (because with 20-year-old skin, cosmetic companies focus mainly on moisturizing ). So all the better for us, because in typical drugstore creams there are simply too few of them to be able to do anything.

But back to AA Plant Power, how do I rate its effects?
The fragrance is indeed very delicate, creamy. White in color, the consistency is a bit thin and spreads well; so good that I started reading the composition in search of hidden silicones.

However, when applied to the face, the cream does not leave a greasy coating, it absorbs quickly, leaving the unpleasant effect of skin stretching, tension, strange smoothness, as if I had rubbed myself heavily with a silicone make-up base. And, after a while, a faint, slightly moisturizing film. So faint that after a while I couldn’t feel it anymore. Sometimes I touched my face during the day to check if I forgot to apply the cream. And at least twice I applied this product again, because again – I forgot that I had already applied it.

To clarify – every day I wait 10 minutes for the vit.c serum to absorb, so I usually clean during this time. Sometimes I forget about something on the run. However, I did not feel this cream on my face at all. Neither nourishment nor hydration. Nothing but this momentary, strange slipperiness.

To be fair – maybe it’s also a matter of habit. I use cheese with oils and natural nourishing creams that behave completely different on the skin.
But I would simply not use the cream before I left the house to the wind, the frost, it was also not coping with the heating season: as if it wasn’t there. I used the hand part, the neck part without much care and regretting the purchase. But then I had an idea and tuned the cream with melted shea butter, oils and moisturizers. Then the cream finally moisturized, it could be successfully used even in an air-conditioned room.

AA The power of plants

My conclusion is that AA Plant Power has been prepared for a mass customer for whom the design of the packaging, promises in advertising, a nice smell and some action that you can feel IMMEDIATELY are more important than nutrition.

So this smoothing and artificial slipperiness meet the manufacturer’s promises that “the unusual formula of the product reduces the visibility of wrinkles and smoothes, provides firm and elastic skin, etc.”; as well as filling the furrows, rejuvenating and growing 10 cm in a week.
Unfortunately, this slippery effect will last for a short time, but if we apply a foundation right after the cream, then we may like the cream used under makeup.

Does AA Cream Plant Power have any long-term effect? Perhaps, because it has a few humidifiers, oils, extracts … The problem is that there are not enough of them. Yes, I know, if the cream were greasy and less slippery, it would end up in the basket for most customers. And I know that maybe someone else will have such a light cream every day, I do not say no to him, but that for me, as a fan of natural care, this product is unpleasant to use and insufficient in operation.
